General information
Are goods advertised on the Footsteps Online Shop readily available?
Our Online Shop is updated on a daily basis. Therefore it is safe to assume that your desired shoe or product is available and ready for postage.
“What’s next”- how does it work and how do I benefit?
“What’s next” is the name of our member’s only-site. Via your personal registration as a Footsteps member you can receive exclusive news about new products. Hence, you are always One Step ahead.
We contact you by email as soon as we receive your request for a desired model.
Must I register at Footsteps before sending a postal order?
Yes, we need your e-mail address to record admin details and we require your postal address in order to send you the goods. It would be helpful if you could also include your telephone number so communication is simplified if queries should arise.
I do not want to buy online. Do you also have a ‘real’ retail store?
Yes! We would gladly also be of personal assistance. You can find our shop locations in the main menu under Shops.
Can I pick up my order in one of your ‘real’ stores?
All shoes available on the Footsteps Online Shop are in store. If you would prefer to personally pick up the goods instead of ordering over the net, then please contact us on +43-1-513 73 77-12. The exact location of your shoes can then be advised for personal collection.
Orders
What is the best way to search for a product?
You have several options concerning the search mechanisms. You can search according to shoe size, your favorite brand, your preferred sport type and the general usage of the product. Otherwise we offer a full text search:
Search for shoe size
The best way to search is by looking at available shoe sizes. This will save you from filtering through the entire assortment of products although your shoe size might not even be available. You can do this either by clicking on “Show All” (to browse through all assortments to find your shoe size) or by clicking on a specific brand under ”Lifestyle” in the main menu (so that all shoes of a brand are shown in all sizes). In the top right corner you can then see the link “My Shoe Size”.
Important hint:
The stated German sizes (e.g. 41) are those of the suppliers (generally printed on the shoe box). However, the sizing differs from supplier to supplier. You will find a size guideline above the officially stated size (e.g. small cut, please choose one size bigger). In this case the system automatically looks for shoe size 43 despite your chosen size “42”.
Full text search
For example, you are only searching for shoes made of Nubuk-leather or Goretex. With the search link “Nubuk” or “Goretex” you are automatically presented with all products showing these properties. Obviously it is also possible to search for one particular article. E.g. our full text search will present all models of the Nike Cortez Sneaker if the word “Cortez” is entered.
Search for sport disciplines/usage
In case you are searching for shoes, which are not under the heading “Lifestyle”, e.g. jogging, you can simply choose the required category from the main menu. For example, all jogging shoes will be listed.
Search for news
As the name states, this link will show you the new trends: it will inform you about new stock arrivals.
I am looking for a specific model but could not spot it in the Footsteps Online Shop…
Please recheck your entries, e.g. did you spell the product name correctly?
If you did not succeed, then the shoe you are looking for is probably one of the few we unfortunately do not have in our selection. Please understand that we cannot process special orders.
I have found a fitting shoe. How do I continue with my order?
Simply click the photo or the article name and you will be taken to the info-site of the particular product. Here all essential details will be shown like price, images, availability, description and notes concerning the shoe size.
If you fancy the product you can then simply choose your shoe size and click on “In the Retail Basket” in order to place the article in your virtual shopping basket. The little shopping trolley symbol on the top right will always take you directly to this retail basket no matter which page you are on.
In this basket you will find the list of all chosen goods, including the sub total. In case you are not satisfied with products or product characteristics such as color or size, you are able to remove products from or change products in the basket.
Payment
I am finished. Where is the till?
You now have the choice whether you would like to continue your shopping or go to the till. Since your orders are saved you are free to search for further products as long as you remain in the Online Shop.
After you have found all desired goods, have placed them in your virtual basket and would like to go to the till, you must click on “my retail basket”. Here you can check that all chosen products have been recorded. By clicking on “final balance” your subtotal is calculated. If you click on “Till” then you automatically end your virtual shopping spree.
We now accompany you through the final steps of the order. Don’t worry- your order will only be sent when you click on “ Send Order” at the very end.
It says something about “Login”. What do I do?
If you have previously placed orders with us, you are now asked to enter your e-mail address and your personal password. Now the order continues….
I have never previously ordered from you. What do I do?
Register now! If you are not already a member of the Footsteps Online Shop then you can catch up now by clicking “Register now”.
Address
You are requested to enter your particulars and address, also your e-mail address with your personal chosen password.

Delivery Address
If the delivery address differs from the address stated on the invoice, you can easily enter an alternative delivery address.
After filling in your details please make sure that all particulars are correct. Now you click on “Next”.
Congratulations! You are now registered. You will shortly receive a registration confirmation via e-mail.

If you chose “payment in advance” when placing your order, we kindly ask you to please transfer the amount (price of the goods plus shipping fees) to the following bank account:

Please ensure that all transfer fees are born by your bank and be sure to include the order number and “payment in advance” in the description field.
After we have received your order, the goods will be reserved for 5 days. We therefore kindly ask you to make the bank transfer as soon as possible to ensure that the goods you ordered are still available. Should your payment not be received in time and should the goods you ordered no longer be available, you will of course immediately be refunded in full.
Order against Credit Card Payment

Now the ordering process has reached an end!
Payment via Online Banking (only in Austria)
Simply click on “Online Banking”:

Upon receiving your order we will immediately send you a confirmation e-mail.
Postage
How much are the postage fees?
Our general postage fees to Germany and Austria are EUR 4,90.
For all other EU-states as well as Switzerland and Norway postage charges
are EUR 11,90.
Don’t forget that postage outside the EU can include customs duties and taxes!
How long is the delivery time?
Usually we have same-day-dispatch. In Austria you should receive the order within 1-2 working days.
Postage to Germany usually takes 2-4 working days and other European countries between 4 and 10 days.
In case you should not receive your order within this period please contact us ( see: Contacts).
Order Confirmation by E-mail
On dispatch you will receive a further notification by e-mail that your order has been sent.
Reclamation
I received the shoes but unfortunately they do not fit... Exchange?
We would like you to be 100% satisfied with our products. Therefore, you can return the goods via mail within 14 days after purchase for exchange (in Europe once and at your own expense).
Simply fill in the exchange/return form present in every shoe box.
Single important criteria: goods must be unused and the original packaging must be undamaged and free of stickers or labels. Therefore it is essential that the original carton is repacked into a protective wrapping before the goods are returned. It is advisable to use the outer packaging that has been delivered along with the goods in order to avoid the original carton to be defaced with stickers, stamps or labels.
I would prefer my money back
If you would not like to have the goods exchanged then we will refund you the full amount into your bank account. Customers that have paid via credit card will receive their money back via a returned transaction on their credit card.
When is this transaction made?
Credit card payments will be refunded via the card and this transaction will show in your next monthly statement.
If you have paid via Online-Banking we will refund you within 14 days into the account you have advised on the return form.
Confidentiality
How safe is shopping in your Online Shop?
We know that you are concerned about your personal details. We respect your trust in us and promise to handle the particulars with confidentiality. We would never pass details on to a third party!
Warranty
Credit Card numbers are transferred in an encrypted format via a SSL-connection. Our security-server-software will encrypt all your personal details such as credit card number, bank branch codes, account numbers, name and address. Hence, this information cannot be read by unauthorized parties on the internet. Encryption enables your information to transform into a code, which can safely be transferred over the internet.
